Brooklyn!! I'm a longtime Jonathan Ames fan and own all of his books. I saw him on the street once several years ago but was too scared to say hello. I don't have cable, so there will be no way for me to watch the show.

NYC. Favorite J Ames book: The Extra Man. Read in its entirety at a coffee shop. Bought it later. Trembling with excitement to see the show. Personal vice: Huffing underwear.

NYC. Longtime fan of Jonathan Ames. It must be so exciting for him to see his stories "come to life" like this. The new show looks great and I got HBO (again) just for the occasion! Mavel Tov Jonathan! Oh, my vice? Let's see there are so many… I guess I can't resist a good stiff one!

I live in Madcap Manhattan (likes its still the '80's). I too am a long time Jonathan Ames fan, and short time Ted Danson fan. Vices? Where does one begin? 1. Anything that starts "The Real Housewives of…" 2. Twitter 3. Puetro Rican ladies 4. Deli bought Rice Crispy treats 5. Coke (I told you I lived in the 80's).
Would love to see the screening.

Brooklyn. Never read any of his books, but large fan of all the actors. As far as a vice, its a toss up between Street Meat and 80's Hair bands.

In Jew York City!
Vices: I take great delight in passing to people inappropriate and pornographic pictures (Ames included), I try to tax my organs (while retaining the ability to sleep) with decaffinated coffee, heirloom cocaines, and subway frotage. Battered women jokes can work, as can Star & Enquirer. There is also a MNN show called Dominican USA which showcases surreptitiously shot footage of Caribbean women's stretch pants, from behind.

New York (Brooklyn). Vices: all-night conversations with semi-strangers in diners. Too much scotch on a school night. Outlandish excuses for being late to work too many times in one month. Cupcakes. Mac n Cheese.

Mahwah, Nj!
My personal vice: thoroughly enjoying movies that have horrible acting and a bad screenplay, preferably that include a synchronized dancing scene.

I live in Brooklyn. My vices included smoking, drinking, and reading too much Ames. I first started reading his column in The New York Press back in 1999, have gone to several of his, uh, 'readings', and since I don't have premium cable this would be my first shot at seeing the show. Also, I really got my girlfriend into reading him, and she would really appreciate it if I could get a pair of tickets to the screening. Another vice is doing anything and everything I can, often to my own detriment, to make her happy. This would be wonderful. you guys rock.
Please! And thanks!

Chicago: Vices include, but are not limited to, Dramedies, R.Kelly, and R.Kelly starring in Dramedies (a.k.a Trapped in the Closet Chapters 1-22)

CHICAGO!
Well, actually a 30 minute plane ride from Chicago, but I'd be there in a heartbeat to see this premiere. My vice? Jason Schwartzman. The boy can do no wrong in my book. I guess it's not technically a vise, but his movies and music have contributed to many hours of me avoiding homework and work.

Los Angeles, Vices include : Running, Turkey Jerky, Sour Jelly beans and chewing gum.

Well I have a good Jonathan Ames story. My girlfriend and I were coming home from the hospital. She had some tests done that required anesthesia. At the time she was reading The Extra Man. So we are in a Taxi going down Atlantic Avenue. She is high as a kite from the hospital drugs. Who do we see walking down Atlantic Avenue. None other then Jonathan Ames himself. My lady wanted nothing more then to call his name and have him sign her book. I am a nervous guy and was worried we would be bothering Ames. I would not allow her to call his name. Big mistake. I regret it to this day. This was before he was a bigshot. With movie and TV deals. I think he would have been flattered. What are the chances of someone in a cab, having your book, as you walk down the street. I think going to the opening might make up for my error. So Jonathan continued walking down Atlantic and his fedora hit a tree branch and fell to the ground. Life imitating art for sure. Vices: Naps, Iced Coffee, New York Post, Crotch Panels

Los Angeles. Vices include but are not limited to: booze, drugs, smoking, cheeseburgers.

Brooklyn!!! Some of the scenes were shot in my neighborhood. Hmm vices…I have Vice Nites: howling during a full moon followed by bacchanalian mischief & mayhem topped off with breakfast at 3/4am at a 24hr diner (chocolate egg cream, waffles w/bananas & whipped cream).
I'm a sucker for creative/artsy men – not sure if that's a vice, it's a weakness and sure does get me in trouble.

Brooklyn! Can't wait to see this show. I love anything that has Jason Schwartzman, he's a personal favorite. Of course the fact that it takes place in Brooklyn makes me feel like I could also be a part of the show in an alternate reality. My vice if you haven't guessed is TV. Spend way to much time inside watching shows, but this might inspire me to venture outside and experience Brooklyn like the characters are.

City: Sillyburg area of Brokeland
Vices: naked volleyball, staying up all night watching re-runsThree’s Company, dog sledding, crizack, serenading FDNY, giving my car a rimjob, ice fishing in Guam, goat whispering, being absurd & random and seeing who believes me

Long Island: I'm a big Jonathan Ames fan, having read all of his books and seeing one of his one man performances. The show looks great and I am excited by the great casting job. My vice is music, going to shows and getting a bit out of my head.

Brooklyn! Personal vice: I lean towards obsessiveness which makes me do crazy things. I have never turned myself into a P.I., but not only have I stalked, but I've casually stalked Jonathan Ames for a couple of months in 2006 – readings, shows, bumping into him at cafe's in our neighborhood, and even went so far as to approach him at the Brooklyn Book Festival and ask him for his autograph.

Damn! You probably would have shown up in a short story!

Brooklyn. Jonathan Ames is my one and only vice, thus my devotion is both pure and prurient.

Chicago. My vice? Maybe it's more of a fetish, but I do love chest hair. Which made the cover of the new book twice as good.

NYC- Vice: Collecting Anatomically Correct Dolls from East Berlin circa 1975.

NYC.

Vice: Jane, Naomi, Gwendalyn & Peanut Butter. Separately. And together.

NYC

vice-being an asshole
