If you’re wondering what Michael Stipe’s been up to since R.E.M. went their separate ways, well, he’s been doing quite a bit in the field of visual art, and he’s been making some pretty fascinating work of late. Earlier this week, he uploaded a series of images to his Tumblr that very much caught our fancy — they pictures are nudes, manipulated in a way that seems to draw on the aesthetic of net art and glitch culture. Curious about the work, we contacted Stipe’s assistant, who passed on this message from the man himself: “These are studies for a body of work that I’ll be presenting later this year. I’m in production now working on the final pieces. Thanks for the interest!!!”
