It was well over three years ago that Flavorwire first featured artist John Paul Thurlow’s Covers, a series of magazine covers recreated — and re-imagined — in pencil. Since then, Thurlow has continued the project, expanding it to include riffs on iconic album covers by David Bowie and Grace Jones, and spotlighting the likes of David Lynch, JD Samson, and Anjelica Huston.
