Lovely Portraits Drawn On Maps

Share:

For those of us who still look at a map of the United States and can’t shake the sight of Mimal the Chef as taught to us in our elementary school geography classes, Ed Fairburn‘s collection of portraits (spotted via BOOOOOOM) drawn on the surfaces of old maps will come as a delight. Using natural geographic contours such as rivers, as well as man-made urban zones like city blocks, to heighten the faces drawn in ink, Fairburn’s collection is a must-see for antique map aficionados as well as anyone who enjoys a lovely drawing. Check out more of his work after the jump.
