For the Flavorpill/MoMA MiXX launch party, the first in a series of events that pairs major artists with world-renowned musicians and DJs, painter Mickalene Thomas and mixed-media artist Derrick Adams shared spinning duties with DJ Andy Butler, the architect behind disco/house revivalists Hercules & Love Affair. MoMA’s lobby was transformed into a giant dance floor, and the atrium, a cocktail lounge for mingling barflies. Fellow house heads (and Flavorpill favorites) Justin Carter and Eamon Harkin filled out the four hour-set, and when the lights came on at midnight, the place was still packed.
That’s one sure sign of a good party. The other? An amazing photo set. View a slideshow here>>
