Looking through the exquisite watercolor portraits in her book Well-Read Women: Portraits of Fiction’s Most Beloved Heroines (Chronicle Books), it is obvious that Hahn is an aesthete who sees everything from beautiful dresses to Molly Bloom from James Joyce’s Ulysses through the same colorful lenses.
