Ear on Arm, 2008. Image credit: Nina Sellars
Our friends at design boom turned us on the work of Australian performance artist Stelios Arcadious AKA “Stelarc,” a man who fancies using his own body as a canvas to explore human-machine interfaces. That really is an ear implanted on his arm, grown from some of his own stem cells. Sterlarc plans to employ it as a remote listening device, explaining, “someone in Venice could listen to what my ear is hearing in Melbourne.” More images of the ear, and some video, after the jump.
