Did you know that Bill Cosby was working on a hip-hop album? While The Cosnarati: State of Emergency is not due out in stores until November 24, you can currently stream the entire thing — which features cameos by Eric Clapton, Alicia Keys, and LL Cool J — on his website now.
Be warned about a few things. First, this is not a hardcore rap album. In fact, the Cos has said, “What I like is what you’re not going to do. You’re not going to curse. You’re not going to put women down. You’re not going to put the glory of the gun somewhere. And you’re not going to put a whole lot of violence up front like that’s the thing that will cleanse you and make you feel better.”
It’s also worth noting that Cosby does not rap on the album, rather he came up with narrative concepts for the tracks. From what we’ve heard so far this is better than a Jell-O Pudding Pops commercial but not as cool as Picture Pages or a Cosby Show group number. It could use some Keshia Knight Pulliam.

[...] I really thought this was a joke. Bill Cosby releasing a hip-hop album? Well technically, yes, but unfortunately he doesn’t rap on it. Instead he came up with the narrative concepts for the album, which is ridiculous either way you look at it. The album is also set to feature appearances by LL Cool J, Eric Clapton and Alicia Keys, all artists that should know better. ‘The Cosnarati: State of Emergency’ is out late November but if you’re up to it you can stream three tracks right over at his official website. Good luck. [Flavorwire] [...]
