Competition: Open for Mew in New York City

89

Danish mood-rockers Mew are returning Stateside on tour, and this time they’re helping to raise the profiles of other bands, as well. In each of eight selected US cities, Mew are holding competitions for local musical artists to submit themselves as the opening act for that night’s show. Better yet, submissions for the December 4th New York City show at Webster Hall are being handled exclusively by Flavorpill.

To enter for your chance to open for Mew at Webster Hall, just leave a comment after the jump with a link to your MySpace page or somewhere we can stream your music. Be sure to use a valid email address when leaving your comment, so we can contact you if you’re selected. Our editorial staff will be reviewing all of the entries and sending our top five picks over to the band, who will select the winner.

Entries for this competition close on Sunday, November 29th, at midnight, but the sooner you enter, the better. To be eligible for this competition, you must have at least 30 minutes of original material you can perform live; you need to be able to provide your own backline; and all entrants must be over 13 years of age. Additionally, by entering, you’re confirming your availability to perform in NYC on Friday, December 4th. Any travel or lodging expenses incurred will be your own responsibility.

Click through to view the official rules for the whole competition and details on how to enter in other cities.

Listen to “Kaleidoscope”, “Wormwood”, “‘Ty”, or “Good-bye”…other tracks are from another (irrelevant in this situation) project.

Would be thrilled…

We Are The Anti-Job!
After forming in 2008, we emerged on the underground music scene with a refreshingly distinct
indie-avant-punk-klepto-rock sound.

We’d be honored to open for Mew on Dec 4th in NYC

its viscosity!

We’re called Glover. We literally just recorded these two songs and premiered our Myspace about ten minutes ago, specifically to enter this contest, because we are some of Mew’s biggest frengers.

This is the precise weblog for anyone who wants to seek out out about this topic. You notice a lot its almost arduous to argue with you (not that I actually would need…HaHa). You definitely put a brand new spin on a subject thats been written about for years. Nice stuff, just nice!
