It’s been confirmed by the U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force that Rick Ross has been arrested, and according to WBS-TV 2 Atlanta, he’s facing charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated battery. Jim Joyner, a supervisor for the task force, told the Associated Press that someone who seemed like Ross’ bodyguard was also taken into custody. The cause of such heavy charges? Spurred by an argument, Ross allegedly pistol-whipped a contractor who was doing construction on the rapper’s (and former correctional officer’s) mansion outside Atlanta.

The arrest took place this morning at 6 a.m. in Ross’s home. When officers showed up, someone in the house allegedly refused to open the gate for them — and so they forced it open. Once they were on the grounds, whoever was waiting inside opened the front door so it wouldn’t get broken down, Joyner claimed, saying, “They didn’t put up a struggle or anything.”

Ross and his bodyguard will allegedly stay in the Fayette County Jail while waiting for a bond hearing.
