TV on the Radio member and respected producer Dave Sitek has shared the first single from the upcoming LP of his solo project, Maximum Balloon. The track, titled “Let it Grow,” features TV’s Tunde Adebimpe and Karen O.
Karen O sings the leading vocals above a steady, low-bpm strum, and a beautifully tangled web of harmonies sung by Adebimpe, encouraging us that “we can turn into anything and grow into everything.”
Sitek is known for working with some of the biggest indie acts, having produced for a diverse roster of artists including Santigold, The Orwells, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and even Scarlett Johansson on her Tom Waits tribute album. Sitek’s debut as Maximum Balloon in 2010 via Interscope was well-received, with Pitchfork lauding its “deep and earthy” synthesized tracks, and he certainly seems to be on the right track with his new song.
