Collecting hundreds of angry letters written to the provocative star of Taxi and SNL, the coffee table-style book Dear Andy Kaufman, I Hate Your Guts! is a suitably ironic love letter to the oft-misunderstood comedian.
Kaufman satirically challenged the women of America to a wrestling match in the late ’70s, assuring that the winner would “get to marry [him],” receive $1,000, and have the apparently added joy of seeing him shave his head.
Dear Andy Kaufman features the most intriguing and odd selections of the impassioned responses that poured in from across the country — many of which include bizarre illustrations, photographs, and added challenges — in a tome that both honors Kaufman’s incendiary style and serves as a hate mail-paved time portal to an age of sensitive and persistent sexism.
Learn more about Kaufman’s life, read an interview with Bob Zmuda (Kaufman’s cohort and author of the book’s forward), and buy a copy for yourself or as a holiday gift.

I never thought of it before, but could Andy Kaufman have been the inspiration for Borat?
Yeah totally. Borat, Ali G, Bruno, etc. Not the content necessarily, but the total commitment to character regardless of how uncomfortable the situation.
this book is freaking amazing! totally worth buying. its very special!
Good points?I’d note that as anyone who in reality doesn’t write on blogs much (in fact, this can be my first publish), I don’t think the time period ‘lurker’ may be very becoming to a non-posting reader. It’s not your fault the least bit , but possibly the blogosphere could get a hold of a greater, non-creepy title for the ninety% people that revel in reading the content .
