The Late Show With Stephen Colbert premieres on CBS on September 8, and the network has released a round of promos, one of which features Mitt Romney doing an imitation of… Mitt Romney.
Actually, he only bears a partial likeness to himself, and the impersonation only almost lands, because instead of wanting to raise the eligibility ages of Social Security and Medicare, wanting to keep marriage between a man and a woman, and wanting to increase the use of fracking, he just wants pancakes, and is disappointed that Colbert has not provided them:
This promo was accompanied by two others, both of which also hinge on Colbert’s wonderfully dry sense of humor: the second justifies a failed magic trick with elementary math, and the third shows the soon-to-be host preparing for host-dom with a backpack and a Charlie Rose notebook.
