FX Picks Up Pamela Adlon Comedy and Announces Premiere Dates

FX has picked up the series Better Things, a comedy starring and co-created by Pamela Adlon (and co-created/produced by Louis C.K.). Adlon and C.K. have worked together on multiple projects, including HBO’s Lucky Louie and FX’s current Louie.

The series stars Adlon as Sam, a working actor and single mother trying to raise three daughters — while also hanging out with friends and dating. The pilot, which was co-written by Adlon and C.K., was also directed by C.K.

FXX also picked up a comedy to series: Cassius and Clay, an animated series featuring voices from Lake Bell and Kaitlin Olson. From Archer producers, Cassius and Clay is written by Megan Ganz (Community, Modern Family) and Adam Reed (Archer), and is an action series/buddy comedy about two women bandits in a post-apocalyptic world. Other voices include Susan Sarandon, JB Smoove, and Jeffrey Tambor.

As for existing show news, animated hit Archer will make the switch from FX to FXX for its seventh season and The Strain has been renewed for a third season.
