Adorable Photos of Women and Their Adopted Cats

Share:

As anyone who keeps a kitty as a pet knows, their feline personalities have hypnotized us into snapping photos of their every move. But artist BriAnne Wills felt it was time to turn the camera onto cat owners — specifically women and their adopted pet kitties.

“In this photo series I wanted to capture the sweet bond that exists between women and their feline friends. So far it’s been New York women only, but I would eventually like to expand to other cities and maybe even other countries,” she told Bored Panda. “Also, I wanted to show that cat ladies are not crazy, but cute and stylish. All of these photos were shot on film.” Wills captures quiet moments at home, emphasis on the snuggling. It’s fun to see a cat draped over one woman as she applies her lipstick and several other ladies practicing their musical instruments while their cats distract them with their playfulness. You can keep track of the Girls and Their Cats project on Tumblr or Instagram, and contact the artist if you’re interested in being photographed. Oh, and happy #InternationalCatDay, kittens.
