Today is Harry Potter’s son, James Sirius Potter’s, first day of school — at least, according to J.K. Rowling’s Twitter account. (Recall, all ye nerds, that the epilogue in Deathly Hallows featured Harry and his wife Ginny seeing their children off to school — but that it was their middle child, Albus Severus’ first day. Among fans who were devastated by the end of the novels, Rowling’s occasional whimsical statements about her character’s lives have been received with wild enthusiasm — as is seen in that first Tweet’s 98K “likes.” Perhaps that’s some indication of how her upcoming Harry Potter-tangential film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, will do at the box office.
