A collaboration with Diane Warren that originally appeared in sexual assault documentary The Hunting Ground, “Til It Happens to You” depicts several campus assaults and survivors’ subsequent attempts to work through their trauma. The message is blunt—”You don’t know how it feels ’til it happens to you”—yet strikingly political for a major pop star.
Directed by Catherine Hardwicke of Twilight, the clip is also Lady Gaga’s first release since Cheek to Cheek, her collaboration with Tony Bennett.
