Kanye West will attend and possibly perform at a fundraising event for the Democratic National Committee in San Francisco next month.According to NBC Bay Area, Kanye will join President Obama at The Warfield for an “afternoon concert” on October 10 to raise money for the democratic party. Though the billing is not confirmed, he will reportedly take the stage and “perform songs from his latest album, Swish.”
Ticket prices for the event range from $250 to $10,000.
As you’re probably already aware, Kanye declared that he would run for president in 2020 during his acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards last month. “As you probably could’ve guessed by this moment,” West said, “I have decided in 2020 to run for president.”
Performing for the DNC is a far cry from declaring his candidacy, but visibly linking himself to the party certainly couldn’t hurt his chances. Until then, you can always buy a “Kanye West 2020” campaign button on Etsy.
