“I will finish what you started,” booms Adam Driver to the scorched helmet of Darth Vader, in a way that sounds at once completely, convincingly villainous and also like he might just start a woodworking project while having uncomfortable sex with Hannah Horvath. And so the third full trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which runs over two minutes, plunges into the chaos created by the Dark Side (via Drivers’s Kylo Ren), as well as the forces and the Forces attempting to fight it.
Such chaos also leads Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega) into various forms of action, Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) into flight, Han Solo and Leia into a nice hug, Chewie into typical wailing distress, and Luke Skywalker into…almost nothing, as he still seems to hardly appear, but for in a 1-second shot of his cloaked back as he pets R2D2.
The trailer first premiered tonight during premiere during ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” game (alongside the beginning of ticket sales for the film, which begins December 18), but it’s now online, and can be watched just below.
