Li Bingbing, known best, outside her native China, for her appearances in 2012’s Resident Evil: Retribution and 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction, is set to star in Realm, a superhero film conceived by Stan Lee.

Though little is known about the plot thus far, Lee has said in a statement: “What a kick it has been to create our first Chinese female superhero, and an empowering one at that.” Lee adds, “It has been such a fun experience bringing to life an international woman character, and the ability to do so has been different from anything we’ve ever done! I am thoroughly enjoying every minute of it.”

Alex Litvak, whose recent credits include 2010’s Predators and 2011’s The Three Muskateers, is attached to write the screenplay. Gill Champion from Stan Lee Global Entertainment will co-produce with Bingbing, with Gregory Ouanhon set to executive produce on behalf of Chinese production and distribution company Fundamental Films.

Bingbing has recently appeared in Zhongkui: Snow Girl and the Dark Crystal , a 3D fantasy action film released back in February, and has signed on to appear in The Nest, a horror/sci-fi film written and directed by Kimble Rendall.
