Modern Vinyl reports that Bill Murray will be collaborating with French rock band Phoenix for a 7-inch titled Alone on Christmas Day for Murray’s forthcoming Netflix special, A Very Murray Christmas. The single release will include the title track (performed by Murray, Phoenix, Jason Schwartzman, Paul Shaffer, and New York Dolls’ David Johansen, a.k.a. Buster Poindexter) and an instrumental version.
Additionally, a new trailer for the Sofia Coppola directed special was released today, and it looks to be a festive and whimsical “Christ-mess” saturated with celebrities; guest stars include the aforementioned Phoenix, Schwartzman, and Shaffer, as well as Michael Cera, George Clooney, Miley Cyrus, Jenny Lewis, Amy Poehler, Chris Rock, and Maya Rudolph.
Both Alone on Christmas Day and A Very Murray Christmas will be available on December 4th.
