Comedy Central just sent out a bundle of massively excellent news. First, Broad City and Inside Amy Schumer were both just renewed. Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson’s series got a multi-season renewal, so the duo will peg their way through both a fourth and fifth season (the third premieres February 17). And Inside Amy Schumer was likewise picked up for a fifth season. But along with these announcements (neither of which are particularly surprising, given the popularity of both shows) comes a little something less anticipated — but also exceedingly fitting.
Ilana Glazer will be starring in the limited series Time Traveling Bong, which she conceived with Paul W. Downs (who writes for Broad City, and plays Trey) and Lucia Aniello (who’s written for and directed Broad City). The Comedy Central show will run for three episodes, and will take “viewers on a wild ride through an otherworldly experience,” according to the press release. Variety reports that Glazer and Downs play cousins who, as you probably guessed from the title, “travel through time stoned after discovering a time-traveling bong.” It’ll air on April 20, 2016.
