20th Century Fox TV has officially ordered a pilot for Dan Fogelman and Rick Singer’s new drama (officially titled Pitch), centering around a young female pitcher who defies all odds when she becomes the first woman to play in the major leagues.

Fogelman and Singer — who are both traditionally known for comedy (Crazy, Stupid, Love and Younger, respectively) — penned the drama’s pilot together, and will also serve as its executive producers alongside Tony Bill and Helen Bartlett.

The show will star Twisted alum Kylie Bunbury as the female pitcher. The role seems right up her alley as the former model comes from a family full of sports stars—both her father and her brother have played professional soccer. Playing a professional athlete on TV is the same as being one in real life, right?

Pitch follows Lee Daniels’ Queen Latifah-starring music drama and Julius Sharpe, Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s upcoming time travel comedy, becoming Fox’s third pilot pickup for the new season.
