Podcasts — you heard of ’em? Probably. We’ve written about them here before, from Serial to Welcome to Night Vale to whole lists of ’em. They come in all shapes and sizes — and now there’s even an old-timey, serialized murder mystery, thanks to Night Vale creators Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor, who are launching Alice Isn’t Dead on March 8.

The series will be the first non-Welcome to Night Vale show produced by their new podcast platform, Night Vale Presents. It will star Jasika Nicole (Fringe, Scandal, Welcome to Night Vale) as a truck driver who traverses America in search of her wife, who was previously presumed to be dead. According to a press release, Nicole’s character “will encounter not-quite-human serial murderers, towns literally lost in time, and a conspiracy that goes way beyond one missing woman,” so it sounds like it’s right up the alley of fans of the duo’s first series.

The first ten-episode season of Alice Isn’t Dead will run bi-weekly from March 8 thru July 5, and will be available on iTunes and everywhere else podcasts are found, including here.

In addition to the new series, the folks behind Night Vale will again be going on a tour of live performances, where narrator Cecil Baldwin (Cecil Palmer on the show), along with musical act Disparition, will bring the show to life. Dates and venues can be found here.
