‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Dominates the 2016 Razzie Awards

We’re just hours away from tonight’s 88th Academy Awards ceremony, but we interrupt the fanfare with the all-important results from this year’s Razzie Awards — dedicated to shining a glaring spotlight on the worst movies and performances of the year.

It should be no surprise that a film adaptation of a novel inspired by Twilight fanfic has dominated the 2016 Razzies. Fifty Shades of Grey tied for Worst Picture with Fantastic Four, but also took home the Worst Actor, Actress, and On-Screen Combo awards.

The casting of Sam Taylor-Johnson’s Fifty Shades was a media circus, and ultimately the chosen pair (Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson) lacked the sexual chemistry (or, any chemistry at all) required for a story that centers on a sadomasochistic relationship.

See the full list of winners below (starred and bolded for added humiliation), and join us on Twitter as we watch tonight’s Oscars.
