Against Me!’s Laura Jane Grace to Release Memoir

Against Me! have for a long time been a staple in the punk community since breaking out of the Gainesville, Florida DIY scene. The band made it to major label success, sure, but the spotlight brightened when frontwoman Laura Jane Grace came out as transgender and proceeded to tell her story on 2014’s great, important album Transgender Dysphoria Blues. It was announced today that Grace has written a memoir, to be titled Tranny: Confessions Of Punk Rock’s Most Infamous Anarchist Sellout.

Co-written with Dan Ozzi of Vice, Grace announced the book today on her Instagram.

The book promises to be an essential read, given Grace’s rare status as a rockstar who also happens to be transgender. She recently teamed up with AOL to tell her story and the story of others on True Trans, a series that currently stands at 10 episodes.

Tranny: Confessions Of Punk Rock’s Most Infamous Anarchist Sellout will be released on Hachette Books come November 15.
