Jonah Hill is all set to make his directorial debut soon for a seemigly 90s nostalgic upcoming film called…Mid ’90s. The movie, which Hill wrote the script for himself, will only feature the two-time Oscar nominee behind the camera; additional casting announcements are still yet to come.

There are minimal plot details available yet, but according to a source cited in Variety , the film will follow a young boy and his group of skater friends as they “learn life lessons.” Set in Los Angeles, the film will take place in the mid-1990s.

Production will be handled by Oscar-winner Scott Rudin and Eli Bush along with their frequent collaborators at A24. There is no word yet on when production will officially begin, but given Hill’s busy schedule — it was recently announced that Sony had picked up the third installment in the 21 Jump Street franchise, unsurprisingly titled 23 Jump Street — it’s quite possible that this could sit on the back-burner for a while.
