Patricia Lockwood Took Over ‘The New Republic”s Twitter Account and Trump-Trolling Magic Happened

Last month, The New Republic published a long article called “Lost in TRUMPLANDIA,” by poet Patricia Lockwood. It was an impressively forgiving firsthand account of a Trump rally and party, and it rang with the buoyant language of poetry. Needless to say, it was a success. It was such a success that The New Republic decided to hand over its Twitter account to Lockwood for a brief period today, so she could answer questions about her experience. And that’s when the magic happened. That’s when she trolled Trump under the guise of The New Republic.

Lockwood’s time at the helm of TNR‘s Twitter was mostly harmless, as she replied to a few questions and provided screenshots of sections of her story that had been cut for space (or other reasons).

But the magic moment came after all that, when Lockwood took aim at Trump. Specifically, his Twitter account. For reasons that will become obvious as soon as you see the screenshot of the tweet, it has since been deleted. Luckily, nothing is ever dead on the internet, and screenshots abound. Behold.

Boy, the world just wouldn’t be the same without Twitter.
