Showtime Shares Official ‘Twin Peaks’ Revival Cast — Including Trent Reznor, Sky Ferreira, Michael Cera and Sharon Van Etten

To mark the conclusion of principal photography on the upcoming revival of Twin Peaks on Showtime, the network has released a little treat for everyone: they’ve released the official cast list, which, as expected, includes many series regulars from the original 1990 show — as well as an immense list of new additions. (Some of both of these were already reported — others are very surprising.)

It was already certain that Sherilyn Fenn would be returning to the series as an all-grown-up Audrey, that Kyle McLachlan would play Special Agent Dale Cooper (though perhaps an en-Bobbed one?) once again, that Mädchen Amick would reprise the role of the burdened and beleaguered diner waitress, Shelley, and that Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer) and David Duchovny (Denise… which should be interesting in 2016) would likewise be returning. (This Showtime list once again confirms them.) Likewise, it was also reported that Lynch veterans Naomi Watts and Laura Dern were joining the series, as well as Amanda Seyfried — and they’re all on the list as well, alongside previously rumored cast members Jennifer Jason Leigh and Ashley Judd.

BUT. The ones people didn’t know about are just as exciting — and some are completely out of nowhere. (Keep in mind that this is a very long list, and that some of the following people could just appear in cameo roles.) First, there are the cast members who we don’t usually think of as actors, but who’d make a stupendous supergroup: Sky Ferreira, Sharon Van Etten, Eddie Vedder, Chromatics’ Ruth Radelet and Trent Reznor; nobody’s characters are listed, so do have fun projecting wild imaginary Lynchian characters onto these artists until their official roles are announced. Then, as far as actual revered big name actors go, Monica Bellucci and Tim Roth are apparently officially in the cast. And perhaps at some point in the series another dimension will open onto a Judd Apatow universe, as Michael Cera and Charlyne Yi are also in it, according to Showtime.

Dizzy?
