Minimalist Illustrated Posters of Iconic Libraries Around the World

Share:

Portugal-based architect and illustrator André Chiote designs colorful, minimalist posters of unique libraries around the world. The contemporary architecture and Chiote’s geometric designs transform the complex structures into poster-friendly images, capturing the essence of each building. The artist makes the Cottbus Technical University Library in Germany looks like a staircase out of a Hitchcock film. And the Seattle Public Library’s faceted facade looks impressively imposing according to Chiote’s vision. We first spotted the artworks on Co.Design, where Chiote told the website: “Libraries are exceptional buildings and reference points in cities since they’re usually distinguished by their architectural quality. And there is nothing I like more than a wall with books.” See more minimalist library posters, which you can purchase, in our gallery.
