Earlier this month, just ahead of the debut of his new film (Endless Poetry) at the Cannes Film Festival, Alejandro Jodorowsky published a new novel, Albina and the Dog-Men, with Restless Books. Much as its title suggests, the book tells the story of “an amnesiac goddess,” named Albina, who “turn[s] men into wild beasts” by way of her “otherworldly allure and unfettered sensuality.” The novel was translated from the Spanish by Alfred MacAdam, and it features a series of illustrations by surrealist comic artist François Boucq. Several of those illustrations are featured below. — Jonathon Sturgeon, Literary Editor
