Mazzy Star’s Hope Sandoval may not have released an album with her dream-pop band since 2013’s Seasons of Your Day (and that itself came almost 17 years after their previous release), but she’s certainly been busy appearing in collaborative tracks since then, and will actually soon release an album with My Bloody Valentine’s Colm Ó Cíosóig under the name Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions. Today, she shared the self-directed video for a song off that album, which features Kurt Vile.
Prior to this, other collaborations we’ve heard from Sandoval this year included Psychic Ills’ “I Don’t Mind” back in March, and the Massive Attack track “The Spoils,” whose music video depicted Cate Blanchett morphing into a floating eroded stone bust; Sandoval’s latest video features some similar misshapen heads, wrought in clay, and floating as they sing the song.
The track is titled “Let Me Get There,” and features the two singing a warm duet, though with a reverb heaviness — and bodiless, colorless, lumpy clay heads — that fight the otherwise upbeat tune with a hint of melancholy.

The album, titled Until the Hunter, will be released on November 4.
