Video of the Day: Flip Book Parkour

If you haven’t seen the first episode of season six of The Office or Daniel Craig’s revamp of the James Bond franchise (Casino Royale), then you may not have been hit with the parkour movement. Parkour, or l’art du déplacement (the art of movement) is basically, as Jim Halpert best sums it up, “getting from Point A to Point B as creatively as possible.”

Confused? No worries, this hand-drawn flip book-style tutorial will get you up to speed. Frame-by-frame, the papery runner leaps over cars and bounds over its own ever-changing medium in an industrial cityscape.

Even though it lasts only a second (out of 48), the plunge at 0:09 between the two buildings is the cake-taker, although the vertical scaling at 0:30 of the guy (Peter Parkour, shall we call him?) is a close runner-up. Basically, if you can master this, you might just be the next friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
