Guns, Gators, Nails, and Niecy Nash: The First Trailer for Dark Comedy Series ‘Claws’ Has it All

Niecy Nash’s dark comedy series, Claws, now has its first full trailer. In the show, the Scream Queens/Soul Man/Getting On actress plays Desna, the proprietor of the shady Nail Artisan of Manatee County in Florida, where, according to TNT’s description, “there is a lot more going on than silk wraps and pedicures.”

You can watch the trailer and see for yourself: between some intoxicatingly saturated shots of nails being choked in vibrant polymer, there’s also a lot of (presumably) illegal cash flaunting, golden gun wielding, gator attacking, boat exploding, and other things you might not affiliate with your local nail business. And then between all 0f that, there are also glimpses at the tight friendships between the cast of women involved in the gun/gator/boat/etc. drama. (The series also stars True Blood‘s Carrie Preston, Scrubs‘ Judy Reyes, Jenn Lyon, and Karrueche Train, as well as Harold Perrineau, Jack Kesy, Kevin Rankin, Jason Antoon, and Breaking Bad’s Dean Norris.)

Claws, which will premiere on TNT on June 11, is executive produced by Rashida Jones (who seems to be getting behind some pretty intriguing projects these days, having also produced the upcoming Netflix documentary series Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On), Will McCormack and Janine Sherman Barrois. Barrois is showrunner, according to Deadline, though The Americans/The Leftovers/Better Call Saul’s Nicole Kassell directed the pilot, which Welcome to Me writer Eliot Laurence penned.
