Watch the Trailer for the Netflix Adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s ‘Alias Grace’

From 'Stories We Tell'/'Away From Her' writer/director Sarah Polley.

As we mentioned a little over a year ago, Netflix’s Alias Grace comes with a lot of creative clout: the Netflix miniseries is an adaptation of the 1996 Margaret Atwood novel of the same name; it was written by Sarah Polley, writer/director of Away From Her, Stories We Tell, and the excellent personal documentary Stories We Tell; and it’s being directed by American Psycho‘s Mary Harron. And, now it has a trailer, which certainly won’t deflate the hype — as it’s damn good. The story, based on a true crime case from Ontario in 1843, centers around an Irish immigrant servant named Grace Marks, (played by Sarah Gadon), who, with a stable hand named James McDermott, has been convicted of a double homicide.

The miniseries will be available to stream on Netflix on Friday, November 3. Watch the trailer:
