Hilarious Twitter Account ‘Tabloid Art History’ Matches Pop Culture Pics with Art History References

Everything old is new again. Twitter account Tabloid Art History has been around since November 2016, but we recently spotted a story on AV Club that made us scope out the account’s latest offerings — and they are good. If your life is incomplete without tabloid news and you worship at the altar of LiLo, Brit-Brit, and RiRi, then Tabloid Art History is your everything. We already knew Anna Nicole Smith was a work of art, but her wedding to elderly oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall is compared to a Vasili Pukirev painting on the Twitter account. The Kardashians get a lot of art-y love, while the ’90s marriage of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman get a fine art homage during their years of marital bliss (if that was ever a thing) and after Nicole signed the divorce papers. “Because for every pic of Lindsay Lohan falling, there’s a Bernini sculpture begging to be referenced,” states the account’s bio. In case you can’t get enough, there’s also a zine. Check out all the photos here.
