Artist Abigail Ekue creates candid and conversational portrait series. Her celebrated Bare Men project is a response to the lack of full-frontal male nudity in art and beyond. In Ekue’s latest series SHE Rides , the artist channels her admiration for riders of all ilk, including motorcyclists, cowboys, racers, and equestrians, into an inspiring, women-empowered set of portraits. In SHE Rides, which features women motorcyclists in Tucson, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and New York, Ekue captures the bond between the rider and her bike — a deeply personal relationship that is unique to every women. The images feature women from all walks of life, different races, sizes, ages, and personalities, united by a passion for riding and the open road.
