Kendrick Lamar Drops a Knockout Video for “LOVE.”

The new clip is a three-minute snapshot: Sex, love, break-up, make-up.

Merry Christmas, and here’s a gift from Kendrick Lamar: he’s released a new video for “LOVE.” (featuring Zacari), from his bold and audacious record DAMN. The clip, directed by Dave Meyers and the little homies, is an exquisitely crafted portrait of the dissolution and (hopefully) resolution of a relationship. Meyers et. al. put up some breathtaking images, from the vast landscape of an empty beach to the quiet intimacy of a shared bedroom, while putting together a dining table montage of said relationship’s deterioration that seems to pay homage to Citizen Kane. (It also includes a broad hint that Mr. Lamar will be contributing music to the Black Panther soundtrack. This video is just an embarrassment of riches!) Check the (slightly NSFW) video out:

DAMN. is available now to stream or purchase, but you knew this.
