Artist Alexa Meade is a painter of sorts, just not on canvas. Instead, she uses bodies painted with acrylic as the medium, arranging them in tableaux that look two-dimensional once photographed. She calls her work “living still lifes” and her installations incorporate found objects, live models, and architectural spaces. Hopefully you’ve figured out the answer to our title question — if not, we urge you to look through a few more examples from Meade after the jump.
