Flickr Found Photo Fridays: An Ode to Davy Crockett

Share:

Yesterday actor Fess Parker, who played Davy Crockett on TV in the 1950s, died at 85. Back in the day, Parker achieved rock star status for the role, and as a result, coonskin caps and moccasins became came into vogue. He explained the phenomenon in a 2002 interview with the Los Angeles Times: “I will immodestly tell you, it was bigger than anything, ever, including the Beatles and Elvis.”

Check out the latest edition of Found Photo Fridays, an homage to Parker and all things “Davy Crockett,” after the jump.

This one is me. I think I’m around 5 years old, which would make it 1986.
