Video of the Day: Hipsters Living in Shopping Carts

Sound crazy to you? Brooklyn-based artist Kevin Cyr‘s latest project Camper Kart (which was funded through Kickstarter, and inspired both by Cormac McCarthy’s post apocalyptic novel, The Road, and the crappy economy), is a pretty cozy looking pop-up camper constructed out of a shopping cart. “It’s a functioning sculptural piece that seeks to explore aspects of housing, mobility, and autonomy,” he explains. “It is also largely about self-reliance and making do with less.” Check out video footage from our friends from Babelgum, along with the building specs for the Camper Kart, after the jump.
