Video of the Day: The Art of Billboard Painting

New Yorkers, you are constantly being watched. “I’ve seen traffic accidents. I’ve seen naked girls. I’ve seen shootings. I’ve seen fights. And they don’t even know that you’re there, that’s the whole thing.” That’s one of the guys from Stella Artois’ new short film Up There, which salutes the oft overlooked art of hand-painted billboards. Our favorite bits are the interviews with members of the old guard, many of who are retired now after being pushed out of the industry by the popularity of vinyl ads. Peep the video after the jump.
