Are Trey Parker and Matt Stone Just Assholes?

South Park is known for pushing the envelope. But for those of you who watched last night’s episode “201″ (a continuation of last week’s “200,” a celebration of the 200th episode), you may have been a bit confused by the bleeps and image blocks surrounding the animated version of the Prophet Muhammad (and in a bear costume, no less). Those censors were the result of threats made last week by the New York-based Islamist group Revolution Muslim. On their website, author Abu Talhah Al-Amrikee wrote that South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker would “probably end up like Theo Van Gogh,” the director who was murdered in 2004 by an extremist over his film Submission. It focused on the treatment of Islamic women.

Muslims consider any physical representation of their prophet to be sacrilegious, and Al-Amrikee told The Associated Press that his posting was made to raise awareness and prevent this from happening again. He also said that Stone and Parker “should feel threatened by what they did.” (Note that Revolution Muslim’s server is currently down.) This is certainly not the first South Park-related drama to make headlines: the use of the Virgin Mary, Steve Irwin. and the Queen of England have all gotten a rise out of certain viewers, and in 2006, Comedy Central banned Stone and Parker from featuring Muhammad in an episode.

On their official website, SouthParkStudios, which normally streams full episodes, the following advisory note can be found:

But certainly not everyone views Stone and Parker as the heroic creative types who strive for free thinking. Former Comedy Central employee Lindsay Robertson describes the creators as “gigantic assholes.” On her Tumblr, she explains:

They owe an apology to every Comedy Central employee they’ve put in danger in pursuit of their own glory and publicity. Hopefully, and probably, nothing will happen except a few hundred people having anxiety for a few weeks, but if god forbid something does, it is on Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s shoulders.

No word as to when the updated ”201″ will be live, but we’re curious to see the unedited version in the midst of all this ruckus. If you’re not sick of all this yet, check out Boing Boing’s interview with Parker and Stone on their 200th episode, and decide for yourself whether they’re assholes or not.

The way that South Park depicts Scientology is incredibly misleading. It shows Scientology in a bad light and slanders the practice. To see people defending this episode (“Trapped in the Closet”) makes me sick. Everyone has a right to practice what they believe and shows like South Park is what leads to intolerance towards those practices.

I think Trey Parker and Matt Stone, yes, are "assholes" but.. aren't we all sometimes?? look at how "the south park haters" think about Trey and Matt... i mean (hate to throw out "the J word") but Jesus was right when the adulterous woman almost got stoned to death and Jesus said "He who is w/out sin, cast the first stone" and they all dropped their stones in sadness cuz they couldn't kill her for her adultery... which didn't do any real harm to them to begin with. i think Trey and Matt are more righteous than some not just for their boldness but the truth in their episodes.

Blaming Parker and Stone for endangering lives is like blaming the rape victim for wearing a skirt. The victim has no responsibility for the actions of some random psycho they might happen to affect. To say they should worry about something happening to them as a result of putting something in their show, even as a warning, is fear-mongering. Terrorism. They do not set out to offend people. Everyone who's offended deserves to be offended.

It's a television show. A show most of us grew up with. Trey and matt are very clever, if you notice they don't actually make fun of prophet at all. They poke more fun at Jesus kickin babies and budda snorting coke. If youre offended don't watch it. Comedy is about joking. It's not to be taken seriously. Calm down everyone. I still respect religion, but it's ok to laugh at jokes. That's all part of freedom.

First of all, I'm punching the next person who says "Freedom of Speech" in reference to how Viacom handles these types of situations. Matt and Trey's "FREEDOM of speech" has been upheld every day they've been on the air. Notice how neither has gone to prison or gone to court; that should signal that they haven't had any rights stripped from them. Yes, they are assholes. They are also profoundly immature for men their age. Perhaps that's why their show appeals to the age demographic it does. Matt and Trey are armchair philosophers IMO with very little concept of *some* of what they parody. Take their financial crisis episode. Some thought it was funny. I got done watching it and thought "my God, these two know less about economics than I do". They understand some things very well. Take their "Raisins" episode, or the recent mid season finale about Stan. Their 'coming of age' and depictions of adolescence I think are top notch. Unrivaled in many ways. Their Muslim episode was just offensive. Christians don't retaliate to people who offend their religion with violence? I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you if you believe that nonsense. Muslims are NOT given a free pass. If anything they have it worse. No one cries and worries to death over churches built 5 blocks from ground zero. Hell if they built a Church AT ground zero FOX News would come cut the f***ing ribbon. If Christians threatens me with hell for being an atheist, or threaten me with God vengence for smoking pot I'm suppose to be cool with it because "true Christians aren't like that". They, according to us, represent some fringe element not to be taken seriously. Timothy McVey was Christian. Hitler wrote about God as his inspiration, the Christian one. Gentle Jesus meek and mild insisted his enemies be driven before his feet and killed in Revelations. The truth is though we live amongst mostly Christians so in our day to day dealings we're comfortable with them. Muslims on the other hand MUST be evil because sometimes some or them will issue death threats. It's just bullsh** xenophobia, and frankly Matt and Trey are no different than FOX News and Glenn Beck. They are peddling fear of a religion that probably hasn't cost the amount of lives Christianity has. Matt and Trey seem to see the world in black and whites, which is often very effective in comedy, it's just not really a good way to approach geopolitical issues like religious terrorism. They are immature, too immature often for the topics they present. You may disagree, but you are wrong.

You can't be xenophobic with regards to muslim. Muslims are not an ethnicity. Muslim is the designated name for those who are followers of islam. I was born Caucasian but I can become muslim. I cannot become arabic, palestinian, asian, black, etc.

For someone who rants that others know little or not about the statements they make you seem to be making unsubstantiated and false statements yourself.

Yeah, they are assholes. And?.......

I just think it's so annoying that Muslims dont have a sense of humor, it's all well and fine to make jokes about other religions, but you say something about a Muslim, and they act as if you've threatened the king. They think they are a higher ranking species of human that us mere normal ones have no right to criticize, meanwhile they stand around in a Neanderthal mosh pit chanting death to america.... get a fucking hobby, if things were so great over there, you would have more than politics to live for, yet all you can do is sit around in your sandy shitty clay houses and unite under mutual intolerance of the west. Heres one for ya, if the path of the Muslim is the right one, then how is it that Christian dominated parts of the world are so much better off? less war, better houses, friendlier people, tolerance,FREEDOM OF SPEECH. well fuck me sideways, i know where i want to live! not that i'm saying it's bad to be what you choose to be or to follow what you want to follow, but it's just a little counter argument for those die-hard Muslims who feel that anyone but them is misguided and of no worth. particularly a bunch of angry bitches who threaten Southpark. c'mon..seriously. Terrorism is Violence. Violence is the last resort for a SMALL mind that cannot push words far enough or find a peaceful resolve. therefore by the laws of logic, terrorists are dumb fuckin retards. disagree? fuckin doubt it. Matt Stone and Trey Parker are wicked! they see the holes in the world and they shine a light on them in a hilarious way... nuff said.

@PhuckIslam Here's my impersonation of you: "Hey guys, I'm PhuckIslam. I show clear and direct religious intolerance, then go and tell you what is making people hate America, as if it's not ME." South Park is a happy show, for the most part. It can be crude, hardcore, and even sadistic, but it's not mean or angry. Ultimately, it has a positive outlook on the humankind. South Park proposed making 'f*g' mean annoying people instead of homosexuals; because it's a great insult and gay people don't deserve to be called it. South Park said that all this fightin' around Chistmastime about Jesus and Santa and Christmas Trees and Hanukkah; that this desperate, overblown war to make the holidays as inoffensive as possible was defeating what the holidays are all about: to be nice and kind to one another, the one time to NOT be offended; that we should all just get along, and actually meant it. South Park has a particular young male character with serious emotional problems (not the fat one), and you can see by the life he was set to live that he has every reason to be. It's subtle; it takes a while to notice. But eventually you realize that he's in a massive personal battle of self-worth. And, he's winning the battle. He overcomes his problems almost every day in a way so inspiring I can't remember seeing in any TV show.

totally disagree that they are assholes. I guess if you stand up against the absurd state of humanity your an ahole. Muslims: Retards that beleive when you die you get 71 virgins and that suicide bombing is good- fuck them. Beibler,a douchebag in the making who sounds like a little girl and writes horribly bland crap. Scientology: is an explanation even needed for this idiotic religion? Fact of the matter is; the only people who think they are assholes are probably uninteligent, or pander to stupidity and ilogical thinking. South park is the last bastion of reason left in this world. The news, movies, radio, and pretty much everything we are force fed in this world, is so controlled and watered down. Trey and Matt see something that is bullshit and they call it out, flat out. They dont dance around what most of the inteligent educated people in this country are thinking. It is political satire at its best, they have balls and even called out BP oil which basically commited ECO terrorism and nobody did a day in jail over it. What dicks for speaking out against retarded shit. mainstreem douchey women who like jersey shore and beibler and have the brain capacity of a dried up fruit rollup are never going to get it, or contribute anything of value to anything.

No, they are assholes because they lampoon issues without understanding them.  They simplify things well-beyond the threshold of it still making sense and then cry out about others being self-righteous when everything they do smacks of it.  They are hypocrites and while they used to be funny hypocrites they have now lost that too.  They are the cartoon equivelants of shock jocks, and while I ferverntly defend their right to free speech, they does not mean this crap should be idolized.

Oh, and as far as their political satire...  they are libertarians (though they seem fairly republican leaning) which is the political ideology for eight year olds.  You wanna see libertarianism in action, take a long hard look at Somalia.

oh and you christains! if you believe in god dont judge a show you dont watch because you are the assholes wasting your money just to get a show pulled just like on cartoon wars 1 and 2 they DONT show muhammed on family guy that they made fun family and south park is good they just show his real form yeah they make fun of people so what the fuck are you gonna do about it nothing they can sue their so rich that if you sue you will lose south park is awesome so if your a muzzlim offended by this that lives in america you can just get out!

@TrueAmerican - very well said. I honestly feel as if Trey Parker and Matt Stone are two of the most brilliant, funny, witty, fearless people/writers of our time. Without a doubt. If you truly understand & LISTEN to what they are saying in most episodes of South Park, you would realize that they are (among other things of course) just trying to point out the extreme double standards & the seemingly widespread stupidity of our society. And the best part is.... it's hilarious!! If one finds themselves greatly offended after watching, then they are - quite honestly - just wasting their time and do not understand the point of the show. These certain people watch South Park (and other so-called "offensive" tv programs) with such ill-will and disaccord in their minds that, in turn, this distorts the way they actually view the show...they can only see that which offends instead of just finding the humor & taking it in stride. These people then see it as an "evil" or "hateful" cartoon, and threaten & yell until they get some sort of reaction. I just don't understand this way of thought. Why not simply laugh at the sheer ridiculousness of it all instead of getting upset?? Even if you are - somehow - deeply offended by something you saw or heard on this little, half hour CARTOON show (on COMEDY Central nonetheless), why waste the time & energy it takes being mad, screaming your head off about how much it insults you or your religion, but instead just....let it go? I mean, maybe I'm wrong, but I think it's fairly safe to say that our world would be a much, MUCH better place if all these "disgusted", screaming, angry, (even potentially dangerous on occasion) people would - as I suggested earlier - merely "let it go". If you are secure & confidant enough in your beliefs, and completely & totally trust your religion, then shouldn't THAT be all that matters to you - YOUR relationship with religion? Who cares what anyone else has to say, as long as you listen to and believe in yourself. It shouldn't mean anything and should not bother you in the slightest. Why do these disagreeable, hateful, ignorant men/women insist on being a part of the continuing spread of negativity & violence that (sadly) plague our world enough as it is? I, personally, think that instead of lashing out at others, it seems like it would mean way more if you showed your own devotion (to your specific religion) by reflecting quietly & privately on your beliefs - a more personal, special "connection" to God, Jesus, whomever it is you pray to. Makes sense to me. I just wish these extremely close-minded people were able to realize that not everyone has the same beliefs as you, and this definitely does not make everyone else bad or evil - it just makes them different. Each person is entitled to their own beliefs, whether they coincide with your own or not, and (sorry to say, but it's the truth) it does not matter nor concern you at all. Some believe in God, some do not. Some think humans were formed from Adam & Eve, some completely disagree. My point being...all religions - and people - are unique & different, so who has the right to say which belief system is "right" or which is "totally wrong"? Who has the right (or audacity) to tell us - as individuals - what we can or cannot say (including TV shows like South Park) just because it might conflict with what they think? Appreciate EVERY SINGLE human being's opinion, even if you don't agree. These people take offense right away, before they even understand exactly what SP is talking about - they only choose to see the "bad" and feel that if everyone else in this world is not as provoked as they are, well, then we are all wrong. Instead of getting offended or violent, why not just appreciate the fact that we live in a country where every single person - young, old, male, female - has this amazing freedom...the freedom to speak openly. In such an oppressive world, I'd say that's a pretty amazing benefit to have. Oh and PS - Chill out!

Genius's.....Matt Stone and Trey Parker may or may not be assholes, but not for what they did in creation of Episode 201. Lindsey Robertson.........it is a comedy show! On a suggestive comedy channel. It's ok to make fun of every other religion in the world, but you don't see us threatening to detonate ourselves in public places. The episode was a statement and an example to demonstrate how our treatment of one religion over the rest gives that religion or its followers( only the extremists sect!) a power over us. Muslim extremists......get a sense of humor. Not something to go kill people over. The follow-up episode also proved a point......ok its fine if you show a mentally handicapped kid get raped by a shark, but its not ok to dress Mohammed up as a teddy bear? At least you can choose your religion. Matt and Trey keep doing what your doing. It helps everyone with a sense of humor see the lighter side of the world and smile once in a while. Freedom of speech is a beautiful thing so dont let the terrorists shut you up!

@onewhocanthink. you do realize what muhammad said was just a reference joke to the movie "Team America"? that former employee of comedy central is stupid. obviously she does realize south park brought comedy central back to life. so with out them she wouldnt have had a job for CC. anyone who complains that south park has ridiculed them is stupid because i would believe it would be an honor to get ripped on in that show, just cause it shows your worthy enough for trey and matts attention.

Just a few things... Everybody just lay of religion, do not debate that subject, nothing good can come out of that. OneWhoCanTHINK is angry, but he tryes not to be. It's a start. Many of you Americans just need to first look at yourselves. It looks like, you missed the whole point of SP. Your society is messed up. But, it's easy to be smart amongst the stupidity of human race... And yeah, SP and the creators are the best!

*To stereotypes on arabs as terrorists, you people will take arabs as Muslims thus Muslims as terrorists. The Holy Quran teaches peace and respect. Muslims follow that. And if they dont, they arent a Muslim. I just hope you guys could open your eyes and see the truth. To Trey Parker and Matt Stone, you guys are doing a good job on South Park, because it is hella good. But im just asking, lay off on religion, cuz its a serious issue. Im an Asian Muslim. Asians with those stereotype eyes, i dont really care. Not all Asians look like that, including me. Lol. May God bless you all.

First off, LBJ. "Muhammed was–a brutal man who converted people to Islam through force and violence" Name 1 way he did such a thing. You really are the best liar in the world if you could tell me it. Caleb, "Take your fucking Muslim beliefs….roll them into a tight little ball….and shove them up your TIGHT LITTLE MUSLIM ASSES!!" I take you're a Christian. But if ur not, i apologize. Did us Muslims ever be stupid enough like you to say something like that to a christian? I dont think so. muhammad, "Matt Sone and Trey Parker aren’t assholes, there dicks." I though you people were smarter than that. You aren't a Muslim, just a guy with no life. Grow up, and quit tryin to fool 10 yr olds into thinking yur a muslim. Oh wait, i forgot you people think like 10 yr olds. Baird, "every religion has taken its comedic blows, except islam, why do they think their prophot is so special that he can’t be made fun of?" I admit i am a fan of SP, and realize theyve hit many religions. Including Islam. Islam is the only true religion, which is brought by Muhammad, after Isa (jesus). Christianity was true, long ago. Now, its all corrupted. But i dont wanna touch on that, just watch Ahmad Deedat and Jimmy Swaggart debate. My point is, i know some people of other religions watching this show will feel something, but most wont. Because they dont give a damn. Muslims do. Islam says you cant portray Muhammad. Why do you people gotta bother us? If you dont believe it, its up to you. Why cant you just leave it alone? Did we ever mock Jesus? No. Lets say i say some shit about your deepest personal belief. You WILL feel mad. If you dont, you dont got faith. Petey, "who cares if someone shows a picture of Muhammad" WE CARE. If you dont care that we care, you got no respect. No respect for religion, no respect for yourself. Doesnt your religion teach you to be respectful? No? I suggest you convert. No respect ends up in war. Right? I personally think that the group from NYC is going a bit too far. But that doesnt give you the rights to say shit on Islam in general. Lets say i see a christian do some bad thing to society or w/e. And i say, "F Jesus". You guys are bound to get mad or something. If you dont, its up to you. Us Muslims take religion SERIOUSLY. Idc if youre doing stereotypes, because its pretty funny. Just lay off religion. You might wanna google illuminati together with saddam or osama. And youll see who the real terrorists are. Btw guys, im only 14. But i could THINK. Not like most of you. To whatever i wrote that offended you, i apologize.

Just throwing this out there for those of you who are still delusional to believe that the Koran teaches peace and that there are two truly different camps of "Muslims": it doesn't and there aren't. True Muslims are the extremists, just like Muhammed was--a brutal man who converted people to Islam through force and violence; on the other hand, the people who are peaceful and mistakenly call themselves Muslims are the fortunate few who probably don't read Arabic and just had it interpreted to them by someone else who also can't read it but pretends to be able to. And good for them if they've decided to be peaceful, but that ain't what the Koran teaches.

Take your fucking Muslim beliefs....roll them into a tight little ball....and shove them up your TIGHT LITTLE MUSLIM ASSES!! That way, you've successfully kept your Muslim beliefs to yourself as opposed to trying to impress fear into people who have the mental capacity to actually understand what a SENSE OF HUMOR is!!! You ever stopped to think that maybe...just maybe...someone might believe something different than you?? Go fly a kite, or a fucking airplane....or whatever it is you fuckheads do....threatening people??? Really?? Hahaha!! Grow some fucking balls and put your money where your mouth is then. News Flash - YOU'RE NOT SCARING ANYBODY EXCEPT YOURSELVES!! Oh...and go ahead and email me at calmaker27@hotmail.com .... I'd love to see you try and intimidate me...Sheesh! All bark no bite from you Allah-Kazammers! HEHEHhEHhEhHEhehEH

Matt Sone and Trey Parker aren't assholes, there dicks. There reckless, arrogant dicks. Radical muslims are assholes. And comedy central is a pussy. Pussies don't like dicks, because they fuck too much or fuck when it isn't appropriate. But dicks also fuck assholes.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH? you Disgust me. Posing negativity in the world by making fun of others is FREEDOM OF SPEECH huh? Then i have a right to call you cheap low class pieces of Shi*. Thats my freedom of speech. I swear its hard to believe how confidently you people act so cruelly YOU ARE THE REAL terrorists who outrage the devoted Muslim community. If you are shameless enough to Yourself make fun of Jesus and Buddha, Muslims are NOT. Seriosuly, you people are disgusting as hell

how come god and jesus are always mad fun of on tv shows and movies, buddha takes his fair share too, pretty much every religion has taken its comedic blows, except islam, why do they think their prophot is so special that he can't be made fun of? If you truley believe that he is the right way than you shouldn't be afraid of him taking a couple of untrue, or exagerated jokes.

The funny thing is that SP had Muhammad earlier in the series. Nobody even battered an eye lid, it wasn't until somebody depicted him as bad that the Muslims decided that the only way to stop it was to ban all depictions of him. Despite what many people say, most Muslims are extremist in some form. I know some Muslims and they are normal people that I personally like, that is until they see a news report of a rival religious group back in their homeland and through their reaction you get a first hand display of how bias they can be. Trey Parker and Matt Stone ARE assholes, doesn't mean they can't be right... Just because an asshole tells an obese person it isn't healthy doesn't mean they aren't right. Comedy Central would most likely be nothing without SP, you would think that they would at least respect there freedom of speech after doing so much for the network.

Who cares what the muslims say, there so unbelievable stupid they go to mecca at least once in there life to worship a...... ROCK!

"trey parker and matt stone are assholes..." duh. nice bit of journalism. i heard the president is black too. gasp! google news should block your site from its search results. dud.

what a piece of shit. South Park makes fun of everyone but when some mud complains they decide to shut it down., well thats only going to encourage more fucks to walk on eggshells. It cant stand, either they are allowed to make fun of everyone or no-one. What a piece of shit

Religion is for assholes. All of 'em. Every single one of 'em. Yea, secular state!

Trey Parker and Matt Stone are heroes for speaking out against the vilest form of tyranny going---suppression of free speech by islam. Look at history and you can see what happens when these kind of groups are pandered to; it has happened before and it could easily happen again. Bravo to the creators of South Park! Show the episode as it was meant.

I like how someone from a Muslim group says that Trey Parker and Matt Stone should be afraid, and he wants an apology, what a cry baby that guy is, and comedy central is no better, it's a comedy tv show, it's a joke, if it is an insult it's funny, who cares if someone shows a picture of Muhammad, let them show it, all of these people who say that things should be censored because it offends someone should grow up, whatever happened to land of the free, censoring is not freedom. Matt and Trey are not the assholes, everyone who gets offended at their jokes are assholes, there are other channels on tv, change the channel if you don't want to watch a show

uh, wow. i'm certainly not for death threats or censorship, but i kind of can't believe how this comment section has turned into a tea-bagger convention. do you people have "islam" in your google alerts or something?

I can't believe "we" caved to this threat. As one poster points out, Jesus, The Mormons, The Jews et al, have all been ridiculed and made fun of. Sure people take offense, write letters/blogs/emails voicing their disdain and outrage and then they make the choice not to watch. Air the full episode, have some guts grow some b@#lls. This action puts the "W" in the terrorists column and shows them thier scare tatics work. WE cannot let them win ANYTHING.

Parker and Stone are assholes. Religious zealots assholes. Mohammed was a nutcase with a, what? 9 year old wife? We have a word for that today. To hell with them all.

Phuck Islam god has forsaken you all. But South Park is just trash, and its popularity reflects the true nature of why people of other nations generally think America is the gigantic colostomy bag hanging over the world.

They are assholes, and in America even assholes have the freedom of speech. They are also outspoken and courageous. I believe terroristic threats are illegal and should be of greater concern, oh gee, and censorship by the network. Comedy Central censorship/greed and these "particular" misinformed Muslim zealots purveying hatred can travel hand in hand. I EXPECT people like Parker & Stone to stand up; say something inappropriate then point and laugh.

Of course they're assholes, and their program breaks new ground in vulgarity and offensive "humor" weekly. But that's neither here nor there; 'do they have a right to depict Muhammed on their show if they want to' is the question here, and the answer is 'yes, of course they do.' The blame here goes to this terrorist group in NYC, and that group should be investigated for terroristic threats, which they were clearly making (even if they were too dishonest or gutless to admit it). THEY'RE the problem here, along with the cowards at the network. Not Parker and Stone.

Notice that she is a "former employee."

Muslims: get this. We do NOT care what you think. Live with it and leave the US alone.

This is bullshit. They may be "assholes" in the same way that most humans are, but they aren't "putting you in danger" or any of that bullcrap. If you don't like it, you're free to quit. Otherwise, shut up and enjoy the freedom, the freedom that stupid extremists are trying to shut out.

Not to mention, you don't see Christians, Jews, Buddhists, or Mormons threatening to murder television producers because someone teases them about their supernatural beleifs.. You know what they do? They write angry letters and peacefully protest... LIKE NORMAL, NON-VIOLENT HUMAN BEINGS. Muslim extremism, notice I am intentionally separating this from Normal followers of Islam who actually practice what the Koran teaches, which is peace, needs to be dealt with without conscession. The more we give in the mroe they will push. 9/11 caught us off guard.... We're ready for them now. We no longer should live in fear but instead live our lives without fear. And should they attempt to use violence and fear against us again? The world will unite to stomp out this threat to human decency and this threat to honest and truely rightous Muslims who do not practice extreme violence.

This Lindsay Robertson is the PERFECT example of what is wrong with America. We built a country for ourselves with the idea that no one should have to live in fear of standing up for themselves or speaking out against injustice. So now we have a serious public issue where a group of fanatic extremists think they can threaten everyone who disagres/critisizes/satirizes their beleifs and what does she do? She throws up a white flag and sides with the terrorists!? You should be ashamed of yourself, Lindsay. Freedom of speech is exactly that.. there's no loopholes or escape clauses. Freedom is just that. Matt and Trey have every right to poke fun at whoever they want, and anyone who threatens or "warns" of impending murder/physical harm is committing a crime. Their website needs to be taken down, their posters interrogated and possibly imprisoned. Comedy Censored.. I mean "Central", needs to re-air the uncensored episode and let homeland security do their jobs.

The assholes are the people making the death threats. So someone maligned Muhammed? So what? Get over it. If you choose to honor him, do so, but don't expect the rest of the world to follow your religion. If he's as great as you believe he is, he should be "big" enough to survive a 30-minute cartoon about a bunch of 4th graders. So sick of religious nutjobs trying to tell everyone else what they can and cannot do.

Matt and Trey are the only people with enough guts to face this great threat to freedom of speech in America. There were many depictions of Mohommed in the Muslim world up until very rescent times, by Muslims depicting their own history, what is the problem then? Intolerant religious fanatics threatening murder? Last I checked that behavior was illegal. Terroristic threats because someones uses their freedom of speech? We can't let religion in any form dictate to our secular society. We may have our problems in America, but freedom of expression will never be one of them. Hopefully law enforcement will take care of this group and put them in with the regular prison population for a while and let them cool off a bit.

awwww.... poor poor muslims. too bad nobody (except for one chick at comedy central) is afraid of them. yay muslims! you scared a girl! chalk it up as your only victory this century. freakin cowards.

obviously Trey Parker and Matt Stone are assholes, that's how they built their empire! But that Comedy Central employee is talking some nonsense. South Park should have to apologize? How about the people who threatened to kill you apologize instead? The best way for people not to fear for their lives is not by censorship, but can be achieved by the actual assholes in this situation to STOP THREATENING TO KILL PEOPLE over a perceived slight. It's totally ok to be offended. totally not ok to threaten death.
