Neutral Milk Hotel and Radiohead: Modern Classics Get New Life

Ask any indie kid what his favorite album is, and you’re likely to get either Neutral Milk Hotel’s In the Aeroplane Over the Sea or Radiohead’s Kid A as a response. So it makes sense that, at 10 and 12 years old, respectively, they’re still very much on our minds. After the jump, check out Neutral Uke Hotel and Radiohead’s Kid A Re-imagined — two new, very different, projects that celebrate these great moments in music.

Neutral Uke Hotel

Also known as Sean Fogel of Golden Bloom, Neutral Uke Hotel plans to cover In the Aeroplane Over the Sea in its entirety, on the ukulele. He’s already posted two videos from the project, and since we love NMH and Jewfros, we’re eagerly anticipating the rest.

Kid A Re-imagined

Like Neutral Uke Hotel, Kid A Re-imagined translates an entire album into a new genre. Listen as two pianists, two violinists, two cellists, and six singers stirringly interpret Kid A here.
