So, this is interesting: According to Deadline, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has asked James Franco and Anne Hathaway to host this year’s Academy Awards. And it “looks like” they’ve both said yes. What do you think? Could this be better than last year’s dual-host approach of Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin? If nothing else, it should bring in a lot more younger viewers. And after watching him on 30 Rock and her on Saturday Night Live, we know that they’ve both got the comedic chops to make things entertaining.
But we have a few questions: They’re both currently in Fox movies (127 Hours and Love and Other Drugs), but do they even know one another? Does that even matter, as long as they’ve got good chemistry? Is this just another part of Franco’s plan to take over the entire cultural landscape? Probably. (In case you haven’t noticed, we cannot wait for that to finally happen.)
