Our Favorite Writers as Legos

We already knew that you can do just about anything with Legos, but we never imagined we’d see our favorite writers portrayed with that telltale yellow skin and weird cup hands. Luckily for us, way back in 2007, Fine Clonier held a contest asking people to build Lego versions of historical figures. But it’s only now, via Booklicious, that we’re hearing of it, and we thought we’d share. Obviously our favorites are the literary figures, but there are many great ones, so click through to see all the literary legos, and browse all the contest entries, from Hatshepsut to Pelé, here.

The picture in the background of Ezra Pound is Wyndham Lewis. Not Pound.

More women authors, guys!!!

Not thrilled with the selection,still quite amusing. Fitzgerald appears to have half a pumpkin placed on his head.I doubt he would be pleased.I like Pound and Will. Ernest would doubtless not be thrilled with their foo foo baby blue ruffled rendition of a turtleneck.It needs women definitely.No offense to old Louisa May, but really?

@katedfisher - because it's a PATRIARCHAL CONSPIRACY. Obviously.

What a bunch of maroons! FIRST, it's LAGOS, NOT LEGO! (Damn idiots don't know their Nigerian geography!), SECOND, there's only on woman because women aren't very good writers (with the possible exception of Ayn Rand).

Doh! SO stupid not do.

Only one woman and It's the author of Little Women? Sometimes sexism is do stupid it's almost cute. Almost.

Louisa May Alcott is a dead ringer for Princess Leia!

It's fucking Lego, not Legos.

rene decartes' lego version is cool. it's a different cut from the rest. i must have it.

Are you really talking about (in)famous writers and saying "Legos" in the same breath? Drop the s please. It's making me cringe.

why does mark twain look like col sanders???

I adore Mark Twain - I must have them!

yeah there should be Emily Dickinson too

Yes, but you forget that Princess Leia/Carrie Fisher is a writer as well! :-)

The Ezra Pound looks like Gomez Addams, and the Louisa May Alcott looks like Princess Leia.
