Spectacular Photos of Iceland’s Northern Lights

If you’ve ever been to Iceland, you’ll know it’s one of the most beautiful countries on the planet (and also home to a disproportionate number of awesome bands, which is why we included it on our list of great places every music lover should visit). Perhaps its most spectacular feature, though, is the Aurora Borealis — the country is smack bang in the auroral zone, from which this remarkable atmospheric phenomenon is visible. Photographer Stephane Vesser has been shooting the Northern Lights from Iceland for years, and his time-lapse images (which we spotted via PetaPixel) are some of the most magnificent you’ll ever see.
