We think of vending machines as something you find in office break rooms and high school lounges, not on the side of the street or in the park. But in Shanghai-based German photographer Florian Ritter’s “Vending Machines” series, which we spotted over at Faith is Torment, they shine from the most unexpected of places. Noticing the huge number of vending machines in Japan, Ritter set off to document them, but quickly, as he explains, “discovered how much more true you can discover a country and its places.” Click through to take a peek at these glowing photos of commerce in a dusty world, and then head over to Ritter’s website to see more of his work.
