The comedy and pathos of Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad prequel/spin-off also created by Vince Gilligan, with Breaking Bad producer Peter Gould, continues in season two judging by this pensive teaser. Tracing the transformation of small-potatoes lawyer and con artist Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) to criminal lawyer Saul Goodman, Better Call Saul was hardly Breaking Bad levels of brutal (at least so far), but it was heartwrenching, dark, and wonderfully acted. This season two clip teases McGill’s fall from grace as the personal and professional disappointments from the first season have worn heavily on the sometimes good guy. Hopefully this means it’s time for Jonathan Banks’ Mike Ehrmantraut to get more screen time. Better Call Saul returns in 2016.
