Flavorwire Premiere: BeGun’s ‘LIBOK’ Is the Soundtrack to Your Next Idyllic Afternoon In the Park

If Barcelona’s BeGun understands one thing, it’s atmosphere. On much of his latest LP, AMMA, the producer elegantly weaves analong and digital tones into sweeping soundscapes, music that feels warm before a single word is uttered.

AMMA is Begun’s first LP on Foehn Records, a 15-year old independent label out of Barcelona. He says its vocals are inspired by “African folkloric sonority,” and early single “DORA,” featured Ela Minus, the young Colombian producer and artist we profiled last month. AMMA was released on Foehn April 8, but today on Flavorwire we’re lucky enough to premiere ‘LIBOK,’ a bonus track featuring Kate Havnevik. Havnevik who has collaborated with both Bjork and Britney Spears (“Someday (I Will Understand)“). The track builds slowly, and while it might be a little weird to dance to, it has lazy Sunday afternoon vibes in spades.

BeGun doesn’t see much of the U.S., but he’ll be playing this year’s Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona.
